Ms. McElmeel was raised in Dubuque Country and went on to receive her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa. Before becoming a kindergarten teacher, she spent two years of her time teaching in fourth grade at Cascade Elementary. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending her time outdoors camping, hiking, and boating on the Mississippi River.
