CHILD INTERNET AND PROTECTION ACT
Western Dubuque Community School District provides Internet access to all users (staff, students, guests). Internet access is monitored and filtered for unnecessary usage and traffic that is not considered school-age appropriate, essential, or violates the district’s Restricted Material guidelines (605.6R1, III. C.).
To safeguard the end-user, software and services are in place on all Internet enabled district-owned technologies to protect from malicious or corrupting software or services. District provided email services are protected and filtered by a third party vendor that filters SPAM along with unwanted and/or harmful correspondence.
Personal devices connected to the district’s Internet services are monitored and filtered. Western Dubuque Community School District is not responsible for any inappropriate or malicious software or virus that enters or infects personal devices.
The end-user is responsible for his/her personal device along with all content it contains and all costs incurred.
