Dubuque Fighting Saints visit Bernard Elementary
Members of the Dubuque Fighting Saints visited Bernard Elementary on Thursday, March 9, to teach students how to 'Live Like a Saint.' The Saints' head coach and three players talked to the students about how the players are expected to live out such character traits as kindness, cooperation, respect, perseverance, empathy, citizenship, and responsibility, and asked the students for examples of how to use these traits every day at home, at school, and by being a good teammate. At the end of the program, Saints' mascot, Bernie the St. Bernard came in and helped lead the students in the song 'My Bernie Skates over the Ice Rink.' Bernard Elementary had a great time interacting with Bernie and the Saints' coach and players!
