Twelve students grades 8-10 attended the event which included hands on session in 3D animation, web design, virtualation, pc repair, and networking. A Guest speaker from NewBoCo, which is Iowa’s first and only tech-based startup accelerator program where tech and entrepreneurship meet and he spoke about how these tech start up companies in Cedar Rapids are founded by people who were not your 4.0 students. Instead they are the students who had a great work ethic and were passionate about their technology field. Once they found their passion they worked harder to get the grades needed to get into a tech school.
