Successful students don't quit when schoolwork gets difficult. To help your children develop an "I can finish this" attitude, never offer to finish a project for them. Instead, help them develop a step-by-step plan for completing long-term assignments on time. Then praise them for their work on each step of the process, not just for the final result. Help them keep in mind that persistence is more important than perfection.
