"Don't forget your jacket. Don't run in the street.” 

Sometimes it seems like adults fill kids' heads with all the things they're not supposed to do. The problem is that young children often do not hear the word Don't. Eliminate that problem by telling your children what behavior you Do want. 

“Take your jacket. Stay on the sidewalk.”
