DMS students participate in GEO BEEStudent Wins DMIS Geographic Bee

Charlie Dickman, 8th grade student at Drexler Middle Intermediate School in Farley, Iowa has won the school competition of the National Geographic Bee on January 22, 2018. The school Bee, at which students answered questions on geography, was the first round in the 30th annual National Geographic Bee, a geography competition designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world.

Finishing in second place was 7th grader, Libby Lansing, and in third place was 7th grader, Lillian Jones. Thirty-four students in the 7th and 8th grades competed in this Bee.

Thousands of schools around the United States and in the five U.S. territories are participating

in the 2018 National Geographic Bee. The school champions, including Charlie Dickman, will take a

qualifying test; up to 100 of the top scorers on that test in each state will then be eligible to

compete in their state Bee on April 6, 2018. Those students will be announced in early March.

Congratulations to all our Geo Bee participants!
