Mrs. Christensen and her husband live in the country with their lab, Stella. She is a trained facilitator for Project Wild/Aquatic Wild/Growing Up Wild, Project Learning Tree/Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood, Fish Iowa, and Hunter Education through the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. She received the Brass Bluegill Award from the Iowa DNR for her participation in sharing the program with other educators and introducing many school groups to fishing. Outside of school, Mrs. Christensen enjoys reading, traveling, taking pictures, hunting, trap shooting, and spending time with family.
