I am a native of Dubuque and attended the University of Dubuque where I received my B.A. in Music Education. I have enjoyed teaching elementary music in the Western Dubuque School District for many years. I am a violinist with the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and in 2013 had the wonderful opportunity to record a 2 hour PBS TV special with Ethan Bortnick, an inspiring 10 year old musical prodigy. I also sing with the Dubuque Chorale and have performed concerts with them in England, Germany, Norway, Russia, Italy and Australia . When in Australia we performed at the beautiful Sydney Opera House under the direction of Eric Whitacre, an original composer. Music is a universal language!! The Dubuque Children's Choir has performed with us in several of our concerts. In 2013 I was very excited to sing solo at Carnegie Hall! I hope to instill the lifelong love and appreciation of music in all of my students. I love music! I love children! I love teaching music to children!!
