Cascade Elementary is a Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade building serving approximately 285 students. The building consists of 14 regular education classrooms, four special education classrooms, a media center, art room, music room, a gymnasium, a Title I classroom, an ELL classroom, and guidance office. It is one of five elementary schools in Western Dubuque Community School District.
During the 2019-2020 school year, Cascade Elementary was designated as an exceptional school on the Iowa School Performance Profile. Only 25 schools, at all levels, across Iowa earned this honor. Cascade Elementary was the 10th highest rated school in Iowa!
Cascade is a small community of approximately 2,200 residents. The student population at Cascade Elementary is made up of children from Cascade and the surrounding rural area including Temple Hill, Fillmore and Bernard.
Cascade Elementary was constructed in 1963 with additions made in 1993, 2002, 2009 and 2017 to create its existing capacity. The building is located on old Highway 151, three blocks east of downtown Cascade.
