Welcome to Cascade Junior and Senior High School!  We are one of two high schools operated by the Western Dubuque School District.  Cascade is a community of roughly 2,300 people located roughly 20 minutes from Dubuque and about 45 minutes northeast of Cedar Rapids.  Our school is located off Highway 151 and Highway 136 near downtown Cascade.

Junior and Senior High School is a 6-12 building with approximately 360 students.  We host an award winning academic program, highly competitive athletic teams, an outstanding fine arts program, and several successful clubs and organizations.  Additionally, we are able to provide students with many concurrent college courses as well as post-secondary enrollment opportunities for students to attain college credit.  Currently, we have partnerships with Northeast Iowa Community College, Kirkwood Community College, and the Jones County Regional Center in nearby Monticello.

Mr. Ryan Fritz is beginning his thirteenth year in education and has been a school administrator for the past eight years.  He began his teaching and administrative career in Yuma, Arizona prior to moving to Cedar Rapids 6 years ago.

Ryan received his Undergraduate degree in History Education from Ferris State University in Michigan where he was a letter winner on the football team.  He continued his education by receiving his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Northern Arizona.

Ryan will work to establish a mantra with Cascade students and staff which asks them to “Take care of yourself, Take care of others, and Take care of CASCADE!”  The foundation of this belief is to establish a school culture which fosters student growth and allows them to reach their highest potential while also holding true to the ideals of the Cascade community.

The Western Dubuque School District has a vision of “Success for All” and the staff at Cascade Junior and Senior High School will work to make that a reality for our students.  Thank you for taking the time to look over our website.  Please contact us with any questions you may have.  As a district, we will continue to be “Better Every Day” for our students and the communities we serve.

Please follow us on social media to see first-hand the wonderful things our students are doing!
