Western Dubuque County Community School District is pleased to announce the selection of Steve Driscoll as the district’s next Director of Transportation. Driscoll will assume the role as Diane Elgin prepares to retire at the end of the current school year.
Elgin has provided years of dedicated service to Western Dubuque, playing a vital role in supporting safe, reliable transportation for students across the district. Her leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact on students, staff, and families.
Driscoll brings extensive experience in transportation operations, including route design, driver supervision, and day to day system management within a multi route environment. Throughout the selection process, he demonstrated a strong understanding of operational efficiency, safety, and customer service, all of which are essential to the success of the district’s transportation program.
He will join the district in the coming weeks to work alongside Elgin and support a smooth transition ahead of the upcoming school year.
Western Dubuque Schools serves approximately 3,600 students across eight school buildings and remains committed to providing safe and supportive learning environments for all.
