The Western Dubuque County Community School District is pleased to announce that, pending official board approval, Mark Ressler has been selected as the next Assistant Principal/Activities Director at Cascade Jr./Sr. High School.
Ressler brings nearly 20 years of experience in education, serving as a teacher, instructional coach, department leader, and head coach at Hempstead High School. Throughout the selection process, he demonstrated strong relationship building skills, a student-centered approach, and a commitment to continual growth and opportunities for students.
Mark's leadership experience, background in activities and athletics, and focus on school culture will make him a strong addition to the Cascade community.
The selection process included multiple rounds of stakeholder engagement with administrators, staff members, students, and community representatives. Throughout the process, Ressler consistently demonstrated the leadership qualities, relational skills, and student-centered mindset aligned to the selection priorities.
In addition to his educational leadership experience, Ressler has extensive involvement in activities and athletics, helping support student growth both inside and outside the classroom. His experiences and leadership style align well with the values and priorities of Cascade Jr./Sr. High School and the Western Dubuque County Community School District.
Ressler will officially assume the role July 1.
