Mr. Meyer and Western Dubuque High School Art teacher, Mrs. Urbain collaborated on a project between WDHS and Farley Elementary. First graders drew an animal on paper and Mrs. Urbain's high school students sculpted the animal using various art materials. The first graders got their sculptures this week to take home and enjoy with their families. #wdbqschools

All second graders at Farley Elementary received the book, Just Like Caitlyn from the Jensen family. This book shares the journey of the Iowa Basketball player, Caitlyn Clark, and her journey of hard work, determination and dreaming big. #wdbqschools

As we reach the end of the first trimester, we're proud of all that our students and staff have accomplished in the first twelve weeks of school! Let's take this time to recharge, reflect, and get ready for even more learning and growth in the upcoming trimesters. As a reminder: there will be no school on Thursday, November 14, and Friday, November 15. Classes will resume on Monday, November 18. #wdbqschools

We had the opportunity to honor Veterans from our families and communities! Thank you for your service and being part of today's assembly.

Farley Elementary School was pleased to welcome members of the WDCCSD School Board for an insightful visit! Our board members had the opportunity to learn about the English Learners (EL) program at FES, which serves 26 students and offers cultural learning opportunities to enrich all students' experiences. With more than 90 students qualifying for the EL program across our district, WDCCSD is committed to creating a productive learning environment that supports growth and fosters diverse perspectives.

In the WDCCSD, we're committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment that nurtures our students' social, emotional, and behavioral development. 9 out of 10 of our families already recognize these efforts, and we're striving to make it 10 out of 10 for all. Together, we continue to build a safe, welcoming, and growth-oriented district for every student. #wdbqschools

Wishing all candidates the best of luck on election day. Today is a celebration of our electoral process and the commitment of each candidate to serve our communities. To all who are casting their votes, thank you for participating and making your voices heard. #wdbqschools

As we close out National Principals Month in the WDCCSD, we want to recognize our Central Office leadership team for the essential support they provide to our building leaders. Their dedication and leadership play a vital role in ensuring continual growth across Western Dubuque Schools. We are grateful for their commitment behind the scenes in supporting our principals and schools. #wdbqschools

We celebrated fall around FES including a parade through Drexler Middle School.

In the WDCCSD, our vision is Better Every Day. We are committed to making progress, pushing boundaries, and enhancing the experience for our students, staff, and community members. Every day is an opportunity to grow, improve, and achieve more together. #wdbqschools

It's National School Bus Safety Week! Our incredible transportation team hauls our most precious cargo across 555 square miles daily in #wdbqschools. We rely on the dedication of 40 drivers, 15 substitutes, 3 mechanics, 1 director, 1 assistant director, and 1 transportation secretary to safely operate 31 morning routes and 34 afternoon routes, covering 1,931.5 miles every day.
With 2,356 students transported daily, we couldn't be more grateful for their steadfast commitment to safety and excellence. Let's take a moment to thank them for their hard work and remind ourselves to prioritize bus safety every day!

In celebration of National Principals Month, we recognize Ms. Amanda Klaas, Principal of FES in her second year. Her belief that "respectful relationships build trust" fosters a positive environment for students and staff alike. Your leadership is appreciated. #wdbqschools

It was great to have families in the building today for conferences and our October Birthday celebration!

Colder weather is here!

Local legislators and candidates connected to the Western Dubuque School District have been invited to visit our schools and engage with students and staff on Friday, October 25. We’re proud to welcome seven lawmakers who will join us at Western Dubuque High School, Epworth Elementary, and Cascade Junior/Senior High for meaningful conversations and firsthand experiences. This is one of the ways we strive to fulfill our vision of "Better Every Day.

Fonziba Koster, African drumming expert, visited all students at Farley Elementary today! We learned to play the djembe! Thanks to FES PTO for making this possible for our students!

We had our first Bobcat Way assembly where we honored students, reviewed building-wide expectations and had a little fun!
