Summer is a great time to help teens focus on a critical skill: money management.
Try these tips to help your teens become a good money manager:
- Help them create a budget and live within it.
- Encourage them to save money. If they have a summer job, they should save some of what they earn.
- Help them open a checking account and use an ATM card responsibly. Each month, they can balance their account and see where their money is going.
- Discuss your family spending habits and saving goals.
