Laura Foust
My name is Laura Foust and I am one of the mental health counselors for the Western Dubuque Community School District. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1991 with B.A. in psychology and a minor in family life education. I received my Master Degree in mental health counseling from the University of Northern Iowa in 1995. I have been working in the mental health field for over twenty-five years. I greatly enjoy helping students and families learn strategies to improve their overall functioning.

Sarah Smith
Hello, my name is Sarah Smith and I am one of the mental health counselors for the Western Dubuque Community School District. I graduated from Mount Mercy University in 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in social work and a minor in psychology. In 2011, I graduated from St. Ambrose University with a Masters in social work and a school social work endorsement. Since graduating, I have experience working in the mental health field in both school and in home settings. As the mental health counselors for the district, we provide services at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. We work collaboratively with students, parents, school personnel, and community agencies to address academic concerns, emotional issues, behavioral situations, loss, and challenges. If you feel your child could benefit from services, contact your child’s school counselor for further information.
