Each month, members of the WDCCSD Board of Education visit one of our eight schools to learn more about ongoing initiatives, focus areas, and progress. Today, board members visited Cascade Elementary, where they met with the building leadership team to discuss the self-assessment of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) implementation and school improvement efforts. 📚

September 11, 2001, was a day when ordinary Americans became extraordinary heroes. From first responders to volunteers to neighbors helping neighbors, we witnessed the very best of humanity in the wake of tragedy. 🇺🇸

The first few weeks of school have been full of excitement at Peosta Elementary! Our students and staff are off to a fantastic start to the 2025-26 school year. 📸

Epworth Elementary students gave their best effort this week during specials. In music class with Mrs. Streif, they practiced the Bobcat Fight Song and prepared for the National Anthem that will open Wing-Fest this weekend.

In physical education with Mr. Foxen, students challenged themselves by running a mile.

In the past two weeks, students attended assemblies focused on the responsible use of technology and its potential consequences, led by Dubuque County. 🖥️

Parents are invited to a special presentation on September 10 at Cascade Junior/Senior High School or September 15 at Western Dubuque High School. Both presentations will begin at 6:00pm.

Dyersville Elementary’s Student Leadership Team is preparing to welcome new families! Our 5th grade leaders have been practicing personalized tours with Mrs. Hillebrand and Mrs. Pederson to get ready to greet new students and families.

Cascade High School band students partnered with 5th grade students from Aquin and Cascade Elementary to explore different band instruments. 🎶

This hands-on experience gave younger students the chance to try instruments and spark an interest in music! #wdbqschools

The Peosta Elementary Little Library was in need of repair, so a PES grandfather generously stepped up to help. He built and gifted us a brand-new library for our students and families to enjoy. 📚

International Literacy Day is the perfect opportunity to recognize that strong readers become strong students across all subject areas!

Student leaders at Drexler Middle School welcomed new 7th and 8th grade students this week! They shared what life at Drexler is like, highlighted ways to get involved, and encouraged opportunities to meet new friends. 🤝 #wdbqschools

Epworth Elementary 2nd grade students welcomed their 2 by 2 pets this week! 🐾

Over the coming weeks, these pets will help students learn about positive character traits and the importance of treating others with kindness.

Diane has shown incredible dedication to keeping our students safe, and we are grateful for her leadership in this important role. 🚍

Today, our 5th grade students at Farley Elementary stepped up as leaders by teaching the Bobcat Way expectations throughout the building!

They shared reminders for recess, the lunchroom, the hallway, and the bathroom—then led our school assembly. We are so proud of their leadership and teamwork today! 🐾

Peosta Elementary was full of smiles yesterday as our preschool students began their school journey! 📚

WDHS Chemistry II students started the school year with the exciting "Fire Snake" lab. 🔥

The experiment provided hands-on practice, a great review of the Periodic Table, and time outdoors in the sunshine. One student summed it up best: "This is awesome—this is why I would like to study chemistry!" 🌟
