Each month, members of the WDCCSD Board of Education visit one of our eight schools to learn more about ongoing initiatives, focus areas, and progress. Today, board members visited Cascade Elementary, where they met with the building leadership team to discuss the self-assessment of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) implementation and school improvement efforts. 📚

Epworth Elementary students gave their best effort this week during specials. In music class with Mrs. Streif, they practiced the Bobcat Fight Song and prepared for the National Anthem that will open Wing-Fest this weekend.

In the past two weeks, students attended assemblies focused on the responsible use of technology and its potential consequences, led by Dubuque County. 🖥️
Parents are invited to a special presentation on September 10 at Cascade Junior/Senior High School or September 15 at Western Dubuque High School. Both presentations will begin at 6:00pm.

WDHS Chemistry II students started the school year with the exciting "Fire Snake" lab. 🔥
The experiment provided hands-on practice, a great review of the Periodic Table, and time outdoors in the sunshine. One student summed it up best: "This is awesome—this is why I would like to study chemistry!" 🌟

The new school year is off to a spirited start at Drexler Middle School! Our student leadership class led the welcome back pep rally, bringing the whole school together with energy and excitement. 🎉
Students had the chance to meet our amazing paraprofessionals, nurses, and secretaries while joining in fun games and competitions. What a great way to kick off the year! 💙
