Paraprofessionals at Dyersville Elementary spent the morning of February 26 learning together during a dedicated professional development session! Staff strengthened teamwork while collaborating to solve escape box challenges using clues, practiced strategies to better support students in the classroom, and reviewed expectations for common areas across the building. 🧩

Preschool students at Peosta Elementary wrapped up their ocean unit with a fun ocean party celebration. 🌊
All three preschool classrooms participated in ocean-themed activities while celebrating everything they learned about sea life during the unit. Students had a great time exploring, learning, and celebrating together.

Students in Mr. Atwater’s Carpentry 3 class at Western Dubuque High School wrapped up trimester 2 by completing some impressive custom woodworking projects. 🛠️
Throughout the 12-week trimester, students selected their own design, ordered materials, and brought their ideas to life. The final projects highlight both creativity and craftsmanship developed throughout the course!

Our School Board had a great visit to Drexler Middle School as part of its seventh building visit of the year.
The Drexler team shared how they are meeting the needs of students while helping them stay connected, engaged, and excited to be at school. Highlights included the WIN (What I Need) period, excel classes, and the school’s strength and conditioning program, all designed to support students academically, socially, and physically.
We appreciate the leadership of the Drexler staff and the opportunity for our board to see this work in action. Great things are happening for kids! 👏

Each student selected a potato and participated in a variety of Olympic-themed activities designed to reinforce measurement and data skills. This lesson helped students strengthen their understanding of key math concepts while having plenty of fun. We love seeing learning come to life in memorable ways! 🎉

WDHS Physical Science Chemistry students were hard at work collecting data to analyze for their finals. 🧪
Students completed six experiments, gathered detailed data, and classified each experiment by reaction type and energy changes. With five sections participating, nearly 300 experiments were conducted in just ONE day. We’re proud of the focus, collaboration, and scientific thinking demonstrated by our students!

Ms. Bowles’ Physical Science Chemistry students explored the Law of Conservation of Mass through a creative lab challenge! Students worked to prove that mass cannot be created or destroyed during the chemical reaction of Alka-Seltzer and water. 🧪
