❤️ During our Bobcat Service Day in May, our amazing 4th-grade students put together military care packages for three family members of Dyersville Elementary staff who are currently serving our country. 📦✉️
The students included thoughtful notes, tasty treats, and even created word puzzles to help brighten their days. 😊
We recently received these pictures and videos thanking our students for their kindness, generosity, and support. It was so special for our students to see the impact their efforts had on those serving far from home. 💙⭐

🎓⚾ A few of our seniors joined our second graders for recess today and had an absolute blast playing kickball and Gaga ball! 🛝😄
It was so special watching the interactions between our seniors and students as they laughed, played, and enjoyed recess together — just like when the seniors once played on the same playground themselves. ❤️🖤
We especially loved seeing them running around in their caps and gowns while making memories with our younger Bobcats! 🐾🎓 What a fun reminder that once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat! 🥹✨
⚾🌽 “If you build it, they will come…” and our new kickball field brought some very special visitors! ⚾️✨
Mrs. Oberbroeckling and Mrs. Pillard’s classes had an unforgettable time playing kickball with a couple of “ghost players” straight from the Field of Dreams! The students had an absolute blast laughing, playing, and enjoying all of the silly antics throughout the game! 😆⚾
It was such a fun and memorable experience for our students and one they will be talking about for a long time! ❤️🖤

After reviewing the weather forecast today, the PTO, Mr. Lawler, and I have made the decision to postpone the Color Run until Tuesday, May 19th. 🌦️➡️🌈
The schedule for each grade level will remain the same. If we need to make any location changes due to standing water, that information will be communicated on Monday.
We are excited to see everyone on Tuesday for a fun-filled event! 🎉 Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. We hope this advance notice gives you and your family members time to adjust schedules if needed.

🎉🌈 We are just days away from our Annual Color Run, and we couldn’t be more excited! 🌈🎉
As of now, the Color Run is scheduled for Monday, May 18th. We will be monitoring the weather closely, and if we need to delay the event, it will take place on Tuesday with the same schedule. ☀️🌦️
Students will be running on the soccer fields, and families are welcome to bring lawn chairs and sit at the top of the hill to watch all the colorful fun! 💙💚💛❤️💜

The Western Dubuque Lions Club and West Dubuque FFA are teaming up to support the Bobcat Den at WDHS, helping provide food for students and families in need.
Join us on April 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Silkers as we collect non perishable food items.
Most needed items include canned vegetables, beans and soup, rice, pasta, cereal, peanut butter, snacks, microwaveable meals, and cash donations.

💛📦 Pack the Principal’s Office – February Community Challenge! 📦💛
In February, our students and families participated in our annual “Pack the Principal’s Office” donation drive to support our local Rural Area Food Pantry. This year, we gathered items during the week leading up to our Friendship Dance — and our goal was simple: see just how full we could get Mrs. Hillebrand’s office!
Our students and families absolutely showed up! 👏❤️ In just one week, the office was packed with donations to help support families in our community. The generosity and kindness shown was truly incredible.
At Dyersville Elementary, we believe it’s so important to teach our students the value of community support, compassion, and volunteering. 💕 When students actively participate in service projects like this, they learn that even small contributions can make a BIG difference. These experiences help shape caring, empathetic leaders who understand the power of giving back. 🌟
And of course… we had to celebrate! 😄🎉
To recognize the amazing support from our students and families, each student had a turn sliming Mrs. Hillebrand — and it’s safe to say she was completely covered by the end! 🤣💚 The smiles, laughter, and excitement made it all worth it!

Today we celebrated the joy of reading, imagination, and all the incredible learning that comes from books! ❤️📖
Mrs. Hillebrand had so much fun visiting each classroom as a guest reader, sharing stories and seeing the excitement on students’ faces as they listened and let their imaginations soar. 🌟📚
Dr. Butler kicked off our all-school assembly and brought the energy! He also taught students about how the game of Rock, Paper, Scissors came to be — and they were all ears! ✊📄✂️
