Western Dubuque High School, located in Epworth, has been serving students since 1962. Over the years, it has built a strong reputation for academic excellence, extracurricular opportunities, and community pride. 🎓

In the 2024‑25 Iowa School Performance Profiles, WDHS maintained its designation as a “High Performing” school under Iowa’s accountability system, for the fourth time in seven years!

This means we continue to meet key goals for student proficiency, growth, attendance, graduation, and postsecondary readiness.

We’re proud of our students, staff, families, and community for making this achievement possible—and even more excited about what’s ahead!

Together, we’re shaping futures, building character, and getting “Better Every Day.” 🐾

We are excited to take part in the Great Apple Crunch! 🍎

Students and staff across the district are celebrating healthy eating and supporting local agriculture by taking a big bite into fresh, crisp apples.

We're marking the occasion with apple taste testing events and serving apples districtwide from South Mounds Orchard in Sherrill, Iowa. It’s a fun, delicious way to connect with our local farmers and promote healthy habits! 🍏
