Please note the special bell schedule with an all-school assembly on Monday at 8:05am in the auditorium. We will share the expectations designed to support every student’s success throughout the school year. Students will pick up their computers from their Cougar Time teacher following the assembly.

We are pleased to announce that Keira Milam has accepted the position of Head Dance Coach and will begin the process of preparing the 2025-2026 dance team in the coming week. Any student who is interested in joining dance should attend try-outs on Thursday, August 28th from 4:00 - 5:30 in the Old Gym. The purpose of re-doing try-outs is to give her a deeper understanding of the skills, etc. the team has to best prepare choreography for the upcoming season. The Unified Activity Federation—comprised of the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA), Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU), Iowa High School Music Association (IHSMA), and Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA)—has designated Sunday, July 27 through Sunday, August 3, 2024, as the official Summer Non-Contact Period across the state of Iowa.
Now in its fourth year, this annual break provides a consistent pause in scheduled activities, giving students, coaches, and staff members the opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy time away from structured programs.
During this weeklong period, Western Dubuque Community School District will suspend all activities, including:
Camps, clinics, workouts, strength and conditioning, lessons, team or individual meetings.
We encourage our families to use this time to relax, reflect, and prepare for the exciting year ahead. Thank you for supporting this shared commitment to student well-being and balance.
