Four baritone and tuba Drexler students attended their first Tuba Christmas at the University of Dubuque last Thursday!
What is Tuba Christmas you ask?
It is a beloved tradition started in 1974 by Harvey Phillips in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza as a tribute to his teacher, William J. Bell, who was born on Christmas Day. Hundreds of Tuba Christmas performances are held each year for all ages and skill levels, supporting the Harvey Phillips Foundation's mission to promote low brass music. #drexlerms #wdbqschools

Yesterday (Friday) at Drexler the students and teachers wore their favorite jerseys to school. This was a fun time for all the people who participated. They were able to show their dedication to all the teams and players they are fans of. The winners from Friday were Travis Harder, Aubree Lahr, and Ambrose Faulkner. Today, our Leadership class students had the opportunity to shop and fill wish lists, and the joy they returned with was truly priceless. It was wonderful to see how meaningful and positive this experience was for each of them.

Today was Ugly Sweater Day and it was a very enjoyable event, and many students and staff wore creative sweaters! Everyone put in a lot of effort, and the sweaters were fun to see. Congratulations to the winners for having the most impressive ugly sweaters. Winners today were Keaton Reeder, Alivia Lansing, and Maddie Kalb. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day special. We look forward to celebrating Ugly Sweater Day again next year. Tomorrow's dress up day will be Red vs. Green.
