❤️ A BIG THANK YOU to the Peosta Optimist Club! ❤️
We are so grateful for their generous donation to Drexler Middle School! These funds will be used to purchase additional recess equipment for our middle school students, including some much-anticipated new balls for "Spalla Ball"!
"Spalla Ball" is a game created by former Drexler teacher Mr. Tom Spalla, who retired a couple of years ago. While Mr. Spalla may have retired, the game he introduced to our students certainly lives on! The students have made it one of their favorite recess activities, and we love seeing his legacy continue through the fun and memories made on the playground!
Thank you, Peosta Optimist Club, for your generosity and for helping make recess even more fun for our students! We truly appreciate your support of our school and students! 🐾❤️🖤 #drexlerms #wdbqschools

REMINDER: Picture Retake Day is tomorrow, Thursday, October 15th!! #drexlerms #wdbqschools
The 7th and 8th grade TAG students completed a unit on the Fibonacci Sequence and Golden Ratio. Students explored these concepts by working with a partner on a discovery packet. After this, they ventured outside for a Fibonacci Scavenger Hunt applying what they learned to identify the pattern/s in nature. They also created their own Golden Spiral with graph paper and culminated the unit by watching a video, discussing findings with classmates, and answering their own "I wonder" questions about both concepts. #drexlerms #wdbqschools

📢 Pickup Clarification for Parents About This Friday!
Just a quick clarification regarding our Homecoming Parade pickup procedure:
You do not need to let us know ahead of time who will be picking up your child or who your child will be going home with. The form simply gives permission for your child to be dismissed during the designated pickup time of 11:05am–11:35am
We understand that plans can change at the last minute, especially when coordinating rides on this day! When you arrive for pickup, you will simply provide the name(s) of the student(s) you are taking with you. We will then verify that each student has permission to leave before they are released.
📍 Pickup: North end of the school (see attached image)
⏰ Time: 11:05–11:35 a.m.
🚪 Entrance: Parents/guardians must enter through the back of the building to pick up their child.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation on this very busy, but fun day! Go Cats!🐾 ❤️🖤
