DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS AWARD
Western Dubuque High School established the practice of recognizing a graduate of Western Dubuque High School at the graduation ceremony who has been a significant contributor to the community in which they live. Thus far, the winners have been Dr. John Sigwarth, a Physicist at the University of Iowa; A.J. Spiegel, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mi-T-M in Peosta; Tom Stecher, Vice-President for First National Bank; Dr. Steve Bradley, Dentist; Fr. Wayne Wolfe, Priest in Eternal Word Television Network; Dr. Julian Heitz, Oncologist; Trish McDonnell Warner, Principal at Drexler Elementary School; Senior Chief Musician Michael Schmitz, member of United States Navy Band; Joseph Reiff, Funeral Director; Dr. William Lesch, College Professor; Thomas Berger, Director of Emergency Medical Services for Dubuque County; Dawn Stumpner-Delgado, Linguist; Gary McAndrew, Senior Vice-President of Human Resources at American Trust & Savings Bank; Thomas J. Wickham, Assistant Parliamentarian; Tom Hancock, State Senator; Dr. Larry Weber, Associate Professor; Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Clements, United States Air Force; Phil Silker, Retired Iowa National Guard Member & Mayor of Epworth; Dr. Jason Deutmeyer, M.D. FACS; Doug Drexler, Wisconsin District Attorney; Lieutenant Colonel Terry McGovern, United States Air Force; 1st Lieutenant Gary Frasher, United States Army; Craig Breitbach, Founder of Cedar Valley Steel & Family of Companies; Dr. Stve Strom: Gwen Hall-Driscoll, Dubuque County Medical Examiner; Brad Heying, Lawyer; Robert Greenwood, pharmacist; Charles Fagan, District Associate Judge; Lynn (Wickham) Hartman, Lawyer; Craig Kluesner, Businessman. All are recognized leaders in the career they have chosen but they also were selected because of their involvement in many community efforts where they live.

WDHS Alumni Website
A few alumni have created a alumni website http://www.westerndubuque.alumniclass.com/. This website will allow all alumni one central location to stay in touch and will handle reunion information and allow classmates to find each other and communicate.
This website has no association with the school or the school district and you will still be able to have information posted on the WDHS website.
WDHS Class of 1986 Reunion
O So Good Winery in Dyersville will be hosting the Class of 1986 Reunion on Sat Sept 9, 2023. Starting at 5:00 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. You can order from the menu and / or they will also have a Rib Special. Live music by Triple Threat will be from 6 - 9. There will be a side room reserved for the class reunion. Come and go as you like, and enjoy the night!!!
WDHS Class of 2004 Reunion
WDHS Class of 2004 has their 20 year class reunion planned for Saturday, July 6, 2024 beginning at 6:00 PM at Locals in Epworth.
