During the “Fire Snake” lab, students used simple household reactants to observe combustion and decomposition reactions in action. The outdoor setting made for an exciting way to connect classroom learning with real-world chemistry.







Students worked in small groups to prepare for different literary theories, and one representative from each group joined the center circle to take part in the discussion. Teams earned points based on the type and quality of their engagement, creating a friendly competition for bragging rights.
The smackdown led to thoughtful conversations and strong participation, with students fully engaged in the learning process! 😀


Morning gym supervisors have been designing fun activities to keep students active while they wait for the school day to begin. In this example, Mrs. Frank leads students through a movement circuit that encourages participation, energy, and a positive start to the day!

Western Dubuque CCSD is seeking an exceptional, student-centered leader to serve as Principal of Cascade Jr/Sr High School. Serving approximately 400 students in grades 6–12, Cascade is grounded in strong traditions, high expectations, and a supportive community.

All three preschool classrooms participated in ocean-themed activities while celebrating everything they learned about sea life during the unit. Students had a great time exploring, learning, and celebrating together.


















Throughout the 12-week trimester, students selected their own design, ordered materials, and brought their ideas to life. The final projects highlight both creativity and craftsmanship developed throughout the course!







Our School Board had a great visit to Drexler Middle School as part of its seventh building visit of the year.
The Drexler team shared how they are meeting the needs of students while helping them stay connected, engaged, and excited to be at school. Highlights included the WIN (What I Need) period, excel classes, and the school’s strength and conditioning program, all designed to support students academically, socially, and physically.
We appreciate the leadership of the Drexler staff and the opportunity for our board to see this work in action. Great things are happening for kids! 👏
