Through Junior Achievement, students learn real-world skills in areas like financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship. Today’s lesson helped students understand how people in a community work together, the different roles we play, and how everyone’s contributions matter. 🙌
Thank you, Karen and Junior Achievement, for helping our students build knowledge and skills that will support them now and in the future! 💡✨

The Bridges Math program provides hands-on, inquiry-based learning where students problem-solve, collaborate, and communicate their mathematical thinking. This aligns directly with our District Plan on a Page, focusing on creating engaged learners, building critical thinking skills, and preparing students for success in and beyond the classroom. 💡📚🤝

We are so proud of the effort and excitement our students are showing in math every day! 🎉👏

🌪️🔬 In science, 2nd graders are building tall towers that could withstand strong winds (fan-powered!) 💨🏗️.
Students learned the importance of having a solid, stable base and explored different materials to create a strong foundation. 🧱⚙️
It took a lot of perseverance 💪, teamwork 🤝, and determination 🌟 to achieve our final builds — and the results were amazing! 🎉👏

One of their important responsibilities is greeting students each morning as they enter the school. 👋😃 Their smiles and kind words set a positive tone for the whole day!
We are so proud of our 5th graders for showing the Bobcat Strong value of being welcoming. 💙💛 Together, they help make our school a wonderful place to learn and grow! 📚🌱

Way to go, Bobcats! 🐾

During our Spring 2025 Bobcat Service Day, our 2nd grade students spread kindness by decorating small flower pots and planting seeds 🌱 to share with our neighboring houses 🏡.
This week, we received a couple of photos 📸 from our neighbors showing the beautiful flowers 🌼🌷 that grew from those tiny seeds. Just like flowers, kindness grows when it’s planted and nurtured 💕.
What started as a small act of kindness blossomed into something so meaningful and beautiful 🌟. Thank you to our neighbors for sharing these pictures with us—it reminds us all of the impact even the smallest acts can have. 🌻✨

Mrs. Hillebrand meets with the 5th graders to teach them:
⭐ The importance of the flag
⭐ How we show respect for the flag
⭐ The proper way to fold the flag
This is the beginning of their journey in learning about the flag, which continues with participation in the 5th Grade Flag Essay Contest held by the Dyersville American Legion Post 137.
We are so proud of their excitement and leadership—a true example of being Bobcat Strong! ❤️🐾🤍🐾💙🐾

Our kindergarten students have been busy learning about their station rotations through fun and engaging games 🎲 and hands-on manipulatives 🧩!
They're not only building skills but also learning the routines that help their classroom run smoothly 🏫💫
Smiles, laughter, and lots of learning happening every day! 😄❤️ #wdbqschools

🚨🔥🌪️ We had our first fire and tornado drills of the school year! 🚨🔥🌪️
Each semester, schools are required to practice:
✅ 2 fire drills
✅ 2 tornado drills
✅ 1 lockdown drill
And every other year, we also practice a lockdown and evacuation drill.
Safety is one of our top priorities and aligns with our Bobcat Strong value: We Are Safe ❤️🐾.
Our students did an amazing job today—way to go, Bobcats! 👏✨
💡 Parent Tip: This is a great time to review your family’s home safety plan together, so kids feel confident both at school and at home. 🏡❤️
