🌸💙 Heartwarming Update 💙🌸

During our Spring 2025 Bobcat Service Day, our 2nd grade students spread kindness by decorating small flower pots and planting seeds 🌱 to share with our neighboring houses 🏡.

This week, we received a couple of photos 📸 from our neighbors showing the beautiful flowers 🌼🌷 that grew from those tiny seeds. Just like flowers, kindness grows when it’s planted and nurtured 💕.

What started as a small act of kindness blossomed into something so meaningful and beautiful 🌟. Thank you to our neighbors for sharing these pictures with us—it reminds us all of the impact even the smallest acts can have. 🌻✨

✨ Each year, our 5th graders take on leadership roles to make Dyersville Elementary a great place to learn and grow. One of their important responsibilities is raising the American flag each morning and carefully folding it each evening.

Mrs. Hillebrand meets with the 5th graders to teach them:
⭐ The importance of the flag
⭐ How we show respect for the flag
⭐ The proper way to fold the flag

This is the beginning of their journey in learning about the flag, which continues with participation in the 5th Grade Flag Essay Contest held by the Dyersville American Legion Post 137.

Each semester, schools are required to practice:
✅ 2 fire drills
✅ 2 tornado drills
✅ 1 lockdown drill
And every other year, we also practice a lockdown and evacuation drill.

Safety is one of our top priorities and aligns with our Bobcat Strong value: We Are Safe ❤️🐾.
