According to the American Association of School Librarians,
teacher librarians have five roles.
Below is a description of each role and examples that
demonstrate how we strive to fulfill these roles.

Information Specialist Role The information specialist role enables the school community to grow into responsible digital navigators as the teacher librarian enriches lessons with new resources, guides learners to judge the credibility of sources, and provides instruction on being a responsible user of information. | Instructional Partner Role The instructional partner role empowers the teacher librarian who collaborates with classroom teachers, leads through involvement in curriculum and policy development, and provides continuing education for the entire school community. Program Administrator Role The teacher librarian provides equitable access to quality resources, manages the library as a whole, and builds connections within the communities to acquires support for the library programs.

| Teacher Role The teacher role is reflected when the librarian builds a diversified library collection free from bias, teaches students to use resources responsibly, and encourages them to be active readers. Teacher Role Artifacts:
